This lamp is not horrible. I too had the impression the shade was made from plastic instead of glass when I first pulled it from the box. But, I tapped on the shade with my fingernail and it did feel and sound like glass -- but it still looks like plastic. It looks like a very inexpensive lamp, to put it nicely. The colors are a little too "blah" and monotone for my taste. The purple glass accents on the shade are so light that when the lamp is on, they are practically clear. I am just not impressed with this lamp and therefore sent it back. Better luck to me next time.

I should have known it was a plastic lamp by the weight of the box (super light). I found this lamp to be poorly misrepresented by hsn. Sending it back today.

I received 2 lamps today and only opened one because I'm returning both of them. Stained glass? I don't think so....stained plastic is more like it. Very, very dissapointed in these lamps and for $200 you would think that the "stained glass" would be stained glass. The shade was also very oily.
