I hesitated about these lamps because of the one-star reviews, but really loved the shade. So finally I broke down and ordered two. The first one was fine -- in fact, gorgeous. (I know the bases are only resin, but I don't buy these for the bases.) The colors were even more beautiful than in the pictures, and the white glass was pearlescent. The second shade was put together badly; I returned it and canceled the replacement. But the longer I looked at the one I kept, the more I wanted to try again, so I ordered a third and it was fine. I'm very happy to have them both. If they were put together better I would have given these lamps a four (the resin base doesn't deserve any higher, although at least it wasn't defective, and the construction can be sloppy -- plus it's a nuisance to take such a big box back to the shipper), but I am very pleased with the two I kept. They are gorgeous when lit. Just look over the shades carefully and be prepared to return defective ones.

I did not put the lamp together because the shade was of very poor quality. Pieces of glass were loose and about to fall off, there are sections of gapping holes where the glass is not held together at all. It looks like it is put together with black puddy. There are a number of pieces that are placed inaccurately. The picture of the lamp is beautiful. Unfortunately the product I received did not match. This was put together very unprofessionally.

Defective to the max. 6+cracked pieces. Flaky,ragged,uneven-colored leading,missing from edges of pieces and major intersects. Defective wiring=new bulb burntout. Uneven placement of pieces. Pinnholes throughout. Major color missing as shown. Polyresin base,not stated. Sloppy,careless construction. Hugely disappointed as first time buyer. More expensive does not equal better quality, as expected. Shame on you HSN.
